Demetra Andjalika
Teacher
Music is my inspiration and one of the most beautiful ways to touch the heart. It has a special kind of magic that I love sharing with my students — through smiles, songs and melodies.
Demetra Andzhalika is a musician with an inquisitive spirit and a passion for exploring music in its many forms. From an early age, she began singing with the Bulgarian National Radio Children’s Choir and went on to study at the Lyubomir Pipkov National Music School in Sofia. In 2015, she composed a piece for marimba, vibraphone, voice and piano entitled Aether, which won the Composition category at the “Music and the Earth” competition.
She graduated from the Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music in Sofia, specialising in percussion and orchestral conducting, and is currently continuing her musical development through further study in classical singing.
Alongside performing, Demetra is also a composer and songwriter. She is a laureate of numerous national and international competitions and has been a long-standing scholarship recipient of the Communitas Foundation, Dobrotvorchestvo, the Ministry of Culture, the Yordan Kamdzhalov Foundation, the National Culture Fund and other organisations. She actively takes part in concert projects and music festivals.
